Our Cuban Photography Tour will be incredibly enjoyable. We’re going to Cuba specifically to celebrate May 1st, Labor Day. On this trip, we’ll stay in the homes of Cuban families. We’ll have breakfast with them in their homes. We’ll experience and experience Cuba to the fullest. On May 1st, we’ll enthusiastically march alongside Cubans and join the parade.
Program
Day 1: April 30th – We’ll arrive in Havana today and, depending on our arrival time and fatigue, we’ll take a short tour of the city to get a feel for it. Since we’ll be spending longer in the city the next few days, we’ll leave today with a light tour and head home to rest. We’ll all have dinner together. Our accommodations will be in the homes of Cuban families in Havana.
Day 2: May 1st. We’ll wake up early this morning and join the May 1st parade. Every year, the parade is incredibly vibrant. One side is almost entirely covered with Turkish flags. After the May 1st celebrations, we’ll continue to take photos freely in the streets of Havana. Those who wish can visit a cigar factory and shop for cigars. Everyone is free to wander the streets of Havana and take photos as they please. Accommodation will be in a house in Havana.
Day 3: May 2nd – Today, we’ll visit a beautiful UNESCO-protected settlement in Vinales. It’s a true natural wonder. We’ll see areas still without electricity. We’ll see Cuban farmers riding horses, people still plowing, and tobacco drying fields. Like many parts of Cuba, this place feels frozen in time. Accommodation will be at a house in Havana.
Day 4: May 3rd – After breakfast today, we’ll head to Santa Clara, home to Che Guevara’s tomb. After visiting the mausoleum, we’ll wander around the city and take photos. You’ll love this city. It’s incredibly welcoming and a great photo-op. After the overly touristy atmosphere of Havana, this is a city where we’ll experience a bit more real life. We’ll stay in homestays here again.
Day 5: May 4th. After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to Trinidad. Before sunset, in the evening light, we’ll reach Manaca Iznaga. We’ll take a photo break here. This is a former sugar cane plantation. There’s an old tower built to keep watch over the slaves and a train station. Here, we’ll take a breather and take some photos. We’ll continue on our way to Trinidad. Trinidad is a tranquil and charming place you’ll love. Accommodation will be in homestays in Trinidad.
Day 6: May 5th – We’ll be in Trinidad all day today. Here, we’ll visit Trinity Church and Trinidad’s old town. Don’t be surprised if you suddenly see a horseman walking along the cobblestone streets; that’s the reality of Cuba. These images are, of course, very photographic. We’ll be photographing Trinidad to the fullest. There are still horseback riders. Women sell handicrafts on the streets. It’s a place where you can find stunning woodwork and handicrafts at very affordable prices. You’ll undoubtedly be captivated by Trinidad’s architecture. You’ll absolutely adore Trinidad, where music echoes throughout the day. Accommodation will again be in the homes of local Trinidad residents.
Day 7: May 6th. After breakfast, we’ll set off for Havana. We’ll take photo breaks at interesting spots along the way. In the afternoon, we’ll be back on the streets of Havana. Accommodation will be in homestays in Havana.
